Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing started the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the group reach places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Seekers and Planners tables.
Fans can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
